Happy Birthday Trey!!!

In honor of Trey's birthday today... he's the big 3-0!  Here are 30 things about Trey:

1. Loves Loves Loves Coke. The real Coke. And from a glass bottle is the best.

2. If he can’t have a Coke to drink, he’ll drink Sweet Tea.

3. If you ask him what he wants to eat, he will say “Steak”. Every time.

4. Born in Bossier City, but raised mostly in Mississippi.

5. Has one older sister and younger brothers that are twins.

6. He can fix anything, really anything… cars, plumbing, electrical, cabinetry. You name it.

7. Doesn’t enjoy reading. (we are polar opposites in this area)

8. Earned his Master’s degree in Engineering from the University of Arkansas. I am SO proud of this for him! That was a hard 18 months for him.

9. Loves hunting and fishing. But I’m pretty sure he likes fishing the best.

10. He would love to have a bass fishing boat.

11. If we happen to be driving by a Kubota dealership or any bulldozer, backhoe, trackhoe or big machinery place, Trey immediately starts dreaming of all the things he could do with such equipment. Such as dig up the back yard, front yard and push trees down. He will say, “Oh, I need one of those, and those, and those…”

12. He bought my dad’s tractor a few years ago and loved every minute of it. We sold it before moving in 2007 and he still wishes he’d kept it.

13. He is currently researching his family’s genealogy. The other night he announced that we would just have to travel to Pennsylvania (his great-great grandfather came to Penn. from Germany) to find more information because it was a dead end online. I think maybe we just skip Penn. and go straight to Germany!

14. He doesn’t technically have a sweet tooth, but if there are treats in the house, they will be eaten in a New York minute.

15. Trey was a major prankster in college. I’ve heard some Freshman year stories about a secret trip to Walmart to pick up crickets… which got put under some friends doors in their dorm rooms… and some crickets also got released in the bathrooms…

16. In college he bought a Chevy Blazer, trading in the “Best-10” (Chevy S-10 pickup truck). About a year later he sold that Blazer to his parents and went back to the same dealer and bought back the Best-10. His groomsmen trashed the Best-10 at our wedding… Vaseline under the door handles, Vaseline in the tailpipe. He’d left the windows cracked so there was all kinds of stuff inside too.

17. Trey sold the Best-10 less than 6 months later… and it was still smoking from the tailpipe every time he cranked it!

18. He traded the Best-10 for the “Paw-Paw truck”… a long wheel based, single cab, red Chevy Silverado. I think he sometimes still misses the “Paw-Paw truck”.

19. His first time on an airplane was about 2 or 3 years ago.

20. He does not like heights (climbing on roofs, roller coasters, etc).

21. His face lights up each and every time Lauren smiles at him.

22. He can fall asleep within 30 seconds of his head hitting the pillow.

23. He once had a pizza eating contest with one of my very best girl friends from college. She smoked him.

24. He likes to say things like, “Mmm, that would taste good on a biscuit.”

25. Also, he’s fond of the “That’s what he/she said.” expression. (from way before Michael Scott made it so popular)

26. Has never been farther north than Colorado, or farther south than Mexico. Same as me!

27. He listens to talk radio.

28. If Trey could pick anything to watch on TV it would probably be some sort of home improvement show – This Old House, Ask This Old House, Holmes on Homes, Hometime, etc…

29. He likes Deviled Eggs with just Miracle Whip (never Mayonnaise… no mayo on anything!), salt and pepper. And he prefers them freshly made and warm/room temperature, not chilled.

30. Trey is not in favor of me making this list for him… because Trey is much more reserved and introverted.

But I’m not, so I’m sharing it!
