At one year old Catherine is so much fun. She reminds me a lot of Lauren at this age. Very clingy, loves her Momma.
But lights up when Daddy walks in the room too!

She is very loving and is a great hugger. Seriously, she will hug me in the mornings and when I pick her up from school in the afternoon. She also hugs her teachers at school when we get there in the morning. So sweet! She is very vocal too! She will let me know in a hurry if she doesn't like something. She is off baby food completely and has been for a little bit. We are weaning off the bottle. She only takes one in the morning and the rest of the day she drinks from the sippy cup. No bottle before bed, but she hasn't done that in months anyway. I am reluctant to stop the morning bottle because I know that will mean the end of our snuggling. :(
I think her hair is going to be straight... no signs of curls like Lauren's!
We had Catherine's birthday party at Nina's house the week before her birthday. It was so fun! It was just family and very relaxed... just the way I like it. I made her cake with Funfetti cake mix and tinted her icing and used the rest of the batter for cupcakes! So fun and cute.
But before she could dive into her cake we opened presents. She got some really cute stuff including the bead maze from us and the rock and roll Elmo from Aunt Jen and fam. She loved the Elmo! Everyone did really!
Of course the BEST part is the cake! And she loved it! No hesitation! She had a little trouble getting past the icing so I helped her grab some and once she got that, she was off!
After this last picture was taken we headed straight for the tub! She wasn't as covered as I thought she would be, but it was still bad enough for a bath. After that she snuggled with me for a few minutes before she fell asleep in my arms and took a very long nap.
It was a perfect day! Happy Birthday my sweet baby girl! We love you so much!
