Easter 2010

So, we didn't hide Easter eggs for Lauren in the backyard on Sunday.  Yes, it was plenty warm outside and no, it wasn't raining.  The problem is the POLLEN.  It's like Tinker Bell exploded out there and this family has allergy ISSUES.  Trey can't stop sneezing and his eyes are just red red red.  Lauren is just a big ball of snot and coughing.  And I went to bed last night with fever and a sore throat.

So, yesterday, Lauren's solid 3+ hour nap trumped finding Easter eggs.  In the pollen filled backyard.  She never missed it.  The Easter bunny showed up a day early at our house, so there would be more time to eat candy and play with fun toys!  That might be an Easter weekend tradition at our house... the Easter bunny coming on Saturday.  That way the bunny doesn't take away from Jesus dying on the cross for our sins and raising from the dead.  (I think it's fine to have fun traditions like the Easter bunny or Santa Claus, but I don't want that to be the focus for these holidays)

The Easter bunny was having a rough time this weekend.  The Easter bunny forgot to take a picture of the basket before it got disassembled.  The Easter bunny also forgot to get the hula hoop out of Mama's trunk.  Oops.

At least Easter isn't really about the Easter bunny.

Love your comment about Tinker Bell exploding! That's the perfect description! Also, love the idea of the Easter Bunny coming on Saturday...may have to be a new tradition at our house next year.
